Oxford University Society (OUS)

The Oxford University Society (OUS) is the alumni association for the University of Oxford. The Society is an organisation within the University under Council for bringing together alumni of the University and encouraging and coordinating their support for the University, other than that concerned with fundraising. Anyone who has matriculated as a student at Oxford on a course lasting longer than 3 months is automatically considered a member; there is no subscription fee and no need to register.

The Society has an alumni network comprised of more than 160 individual regional groups in places from Paris to Buenos Aires. This network provides alumni with the opportunity to meet up with like-minded individuals for social and professional networking events and activities.

The University Alumni Office supports the Oxford University Society by providing a range of benefits and services for alumni and encouraging interaction between members and current students. The Office is responsible for:
- Supporting and expanding the work of the Society’s volunteer-run branch network - Organising a varied travel programme, giving Oxonians exclusive holiday opportunities, accompanied by an expert Oxford scholar
- Organising a varied events programme, including the annual Oxford Alumni Weekend
- Promoting and developing the Oxford Alumni Card scheme
- Coordinating an integrated scheme for providing alumni with opportunities for continuing professional development
- Establishing and supporting the work of the Student Alumni Association, which aims to promote the interests of and understanding between the students of the past, present, and future
- Running the OUS Awards scheme, offering current students financial support in the categories of travel, sports and hardship

OUS Travel Programme 2008

The 2008 Oxford University Society Travel Programme offers you, your friends and family trips to a wide variety of destinations from Antarctica to Italy. The Travel Programme provides you with the opportunity to holiday with like-minded people, accompanied by expert Oxford scholars. For each booking, all tour operators make a donation to the Oxford University Society. These funds are used to support the work of the OUS on behalf of all Oxford alumni, and also to provide travel awards to current students. The 2008-2009 brochure will be available from June 2008.
