As a celebration of our alumni, each month we will highlight a new book written by one of Oxford's North American-based alumni.
For October 2018, our author is James M Fallows, Queen's College (1970).
James Fallows is a long-time writer for The Atlantic magazine, and author of 12 books. He grew up in California; studied American history as an undergraduate at Harvard; once worked as chief White House speechwriter for president Jimmy Carter; and during his reporting career for the Atlantic has been based in Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai, Beijing, Seattle, and Berkeley, in addition Washington DC. He and his wife Deborah were married at the Queen's College chapel in Oxford, while he was studying there.
