MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of Oxford University Development (North America), Inc. (“OUDNA”) is to support the broader University of Oxford, its Colleges, and affiliated institutions through first-in-class institutional advancement and alumni relations programs.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Development Officer for the Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities campaign will provide administrative support in all areas of advancement in connection to individual, foundation, and corporate giving. This position supports a major capital campaign to fund the Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities and reports to the Associate Vice President for the Humanities and works closely with the Senior Development Officer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
• Use fundraising database to perform accurate and standardized data entry to track constituent actions, update and create new constituent records.
• Create fundraising reports as requested.
• Assist in the planning and execution of all fundraising appeals by drafting and proofing letters, creating mailing lists, and analyzing response rates, etc.
• Coordinate and execute mailings.
• Handle confidential and time-sensitive correspondence.
• Liaise with designers and printers on collateral materials, as needed.
• Coordinate with Communications and Alumni Relations team.
• Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, internal, and external parties.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and balance priorities.
• Provide general assistance to the Schwarzman campaign.
• Maintain files and meeting records.
• Maintain a calendar of events, visits to the United States by Oxford academics and administrative leaders, loans of art and objects from Oxford to various cultural institutions throughout the United States, and other calendared items that might provide opportunities to advance fundraising.
• Be willing to work evening events and occasional weekends.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following capacities:
• Strong administrative and problem-solving skills.
• Proofreading skills.
• Excellent written, and oral communication skills.
• The ability to work independently and proactively.
• Applicants must have database experience.
• A demonstrated interest in fundraising and humanities is preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BA or BS degree preferred.
3 to 5 years of professional experience in a related field preferred.
