As a celebration of our alumni, each month we will highlight a new book written by one of
Oxford's alumni.
Our April 2024 book is "Innovation Through Impact: Lessons from the Global Innovators in Business Series"
by Christopher Rathbun (Pembroke, 2021).
As an interviewer and a writer, Christopher Rathbun gathered and consolidated the secrets of driving impact in our careers - On February 24th, 2024, Christopher’s first book for general audiences, “Innovation Through Impact: Lessons from the Global Innovators in Business Series” will be published. In this book Christopher shares the lessons he has learned from a select group of innovators in a short, actionable guide that takes the reader step by step to realizing the impact they hope to achieve.
Christopher started the Global innovators in Business series in 2018, seeking out leaders of companies that he felt were driving positive change in the world. Amidst the sudden COVID 19 Pandemic, and whilst students were stuck in front of their screens, Christopher began live streaming the interviews, garnering tens of thousands of viewers every episode. Interviewees included the founder of Beyond Meat, Allbirds, the Quantum Fund, Zipline, Hint Water, etc. Christopher then attended Oxford, researching Economics for Development to further dive deeper into what type of impact "sticks". Six years and more than 30 interviews later, Christopher is combining the stories of the innovators, his learnings at Oxford in development economics, and his personal journey to share with the world a new path towards driving impact.
