As a celebration of our alumni, each month we will highlight a new book written by one of Oxford's North American-based alumni.
For December 2019, our author is Jacquelyn Bengfort, Wolfson College (2006).
Born in North Dakota, Jacquelyn Bengfort holds a B.S. in English with Honors from the U.S. Naval Academy and an MPhil in Social Anthropology from the University of Oxford, where she was a Rhodes Scholar. After serving as a surface warfare officer aboard two U.S. Navy ships, she settled in Washington, DC, where she works as a freelance writer. Her poetry has been recognized with fellowships from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and the Sustainable Arts Foundation.
