Boat Race Dinner Committee
2019 Election

 

Notice is hereby given that election for membership on the 15-person Oxford-Cambridge New York City Boat Race Dinner Committee shall be held on June 24, 2019 at the North American Oxford University Office, 500 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY at noon. Anyone wishing to attend and vote for Committee candidates must send the Committee chairperson, Hervé Gouraige, an email at hgouraige@sillscummis.com with copies to Jo Ann Corey at jcorey@oxfordna.org and Elizabeth Healey at liz@cantab.org no later than Monday, June 10, 2019. Committee members must have an earned degree from either Oxford or Cambridge and reside in the metropolitan area (NY, NJ, CT). Those eligible to vote for Committee members are stipulated by Art. I(4) of our By-Laws, reproduced below. 

The BRDC is an autonomous group recognized by the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.  BRDC is operated by a Committee of volunteers.  All alumni of Oxford or Cambridge in the metropolitan area are nominal or at-large BRDC members and are eligible for BRDC Committee membership. [“Nominal” members are those with a strong connection to either University, illustrated in Article I (1) below, but no earned degree from either; “at-large” members are those who matriculated at either University, but are not earned-degree recipients or Committee members (who must be earned-degree recipients for active membership).]  BRDC’s programs, activities, and outreach will take place primarily in the New York-New Jersey-Connecticut area.  In cooperation with and support from the Universities’ alumni offices, BRDC intends to provide a focal point for meetings and social events for meetings among alumni through programs where all alumni can gather and share their experience of Oxford or Cambridge.  

If you qualify to vote and plan to attend, please include in your notice to the chairperson and Oxford and Cambridge alumni offices which college and University with which you are affiliated.
