As a celebration of our alumni, each month we will highlight a new book written by one of
Oxford's
North American-based alumni.

Our July 2021 book is "The Tropical Kitchen: Healthy and Vegan Food From the Islands"
by Melania Edwards (Hertford, 2006).

Melania Edwards is the Founder of The Tropical Kitchen, where she’s on a mission to elevate Indonesian culture and cuisine globally. The Tropical Kitchen cookbook is a collection of simple yet delicious recipes, all healthy, plant-based, and inspired by the cuisine of Indonesia. It’s the world’s first plant-based Indonesian cookbook and an exciting range of products will be launching this summer. Melania is half-Indonesian and half-British, and a strong advocate for promoting Indonesia as a cultural and burgeoning technology hub. She received her BA and MA in Economics and Management from Oxford University.
