Erin O'Halloran
As a celebration of our alumni, each month we will highlight a new book written by one of
Oxford's
alumni.

Our March 2025 book is "East of Empire: Egypt, India, and the World Between the Wars"
by Erin O'Halloran
(St Antony's College, 2014).

Dr. Erin M.B. O'Halloran is Marie Sklodowska-Curie European Research Fellow at the Cambridge Heritage Research Centre, McDonald Institute of Archaelogy, University of Cambridge. She is Principal Investigator of Gernika as Orient: Bombs, Art & Fake News, for which she also held a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship. She has taught 20C International History at the Munk Institute for Global Affairs, University of Toronto, and History & Politics of the Modern Middle East at the University of Oxford, where she completed her DPhil in 2019. Previously she worked in political research and translation at the Carnegie Middle East Centre and at the United Nations in Beirut, Lebanon. East of Empire: Egypt, India, and the World Between the Wars is her first book.
